The Eurocargo cab chassis is an ideal platform for a wide range of body fitments – the chassis rails are completely flat on top and free from obstructions, allowing body lengths from 7 to 9.5m.

Another benefit of the Eurocargo range is its versatility. It is easy to drive, even in city centres thanks to a compact cab, an industry-leading steering angle (49 degrees) provides an outstanding turning circle.  The range also delivers excellent performance with up to 279hp and 950Nm of torque available, while also returning excellent fuel efficiency.  Complementing the powerful engines are a selection of transmissions providing several options depending on the job requirements

RANGE-12-16 TONNES

The Eurocargo is an excellent choice for a broad range of medium duty transport requirements. Boasting superior driver comfort features, an unrivalled turning circle and impressive fuel efficiency, the Eurocargo is a smart choice. In the 12 tonne to 16 tonne weight segment the Eurocargo has three models with GVMs of 12, 14 and 16 tonnes. All Eurocargo models in this weight range are 4 x 2 axle configuration and feature Iveco's proven Tector engine with a choice of either 251 or 279hp available. On offer across the 12-16 tonne range is a choice of multiple different wheelbases to ensure suitability for a broad selection of applications. If you require a truck that has that little bit extra room and the ability to seat work crews of up to seven people, the ML140 provides a crew cab option.

For our customer’s added safety the 2017 Eurocargo has been updated to include ESP and LED Daytime running lights as standard equipment.

The 12-16 tonne Eurocargo models are being widely used in NZ for work including:

Powering all Eurocargo models is the impressive Iveco Tector engine range. The Tector is an extremely efficient engine which boasts high output and performance while remaining fuel efficient.  Despite only displacing 5.9 litre, the turbocharged and intercooled powerplant is extremely advanced with 4 valves per cylinder and high pressure common rail electronic fuel injection. The combination allows the engine to produce upto 279hp and 950Nm of torque.  The Tector range of engines have also recently been updated to EEV emissions levels which provides the customer with a cleaner running engine than the Euro 5 standard. They employ Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) to reduce emissions and in turn deliver better fuel consumption to reduce running costs. SCR emissions control also has the added benefit of improving engine reliability and extends servicing intervals to reduce the cost of ownership.

The Iveco Tector engine fitted in the Eurocargo range offers:

DRIVELINE

The Eurocargo comes with a choice of four transmissions depending on the application and model selected:

  • Manual ZF 6 speed
  • Manual: ZF 9 speed
  • Automated: ZF 6 speed
  • Automatic: Allison 5 speed.

Manual: the ZF 6S800 is a 6 speed manual transmission, available in the Eurocargo ML120E25 It is a synchromesh gearbox that makes changing gears and finding the right speed a breeze even for more novice drivers.

 

 

Manual: the ZF 9S–1110 is a 9-speed manual transmission, available on the Eurocargo ML140 and ML160. The 9S-1110 is an easy to use and durable gearbox that delivers precise gear changes and total control for the driver. It is a synchromesh gearbox that makes changing gears and finding the right speed a breeze even for more novice drivers.

Automated: the ZF 6AS-1000 is a 6-speed automated gearbox available on the Eurocargo ML120 and ML160. The ZF 6AS series is a fully automated shift system which has an electronically controlled clutch engagement. This allows the driver freedom to switch to manual mode should the traffic and road conditions require it, and delivers quick and accurate shifting with the added benefit of improved fuel consumption.

Automatic: the Allison S3000 automatic gearbox is available on the entire Eurocargo range. The S3000 is flexible enough to work in a wide variety of applications, and is designed with close ratios for city streets and highway driving. It is also fitted with a torque converter which results in better startability, particularly on steep gradients.

The Eurocargo is fitted with front parabolic springs and pneumatic air bag rear suspension with ECAS (Electronically Controlled Air Suspension) to adjust or maintain the chassis height. This is fitted together with hydraulic shock absorbers to protect the driver and vehicle from harsh impacts of the road surface. These combine together to give a smooth and trouble free driving experience.

Eurocargo can also be ordered ex factory with rear parabolic spring suspension on all models.

CAB

The latest Eurocargo has been re-designed inside and out to offer superior ergonomics, accessibility and comfort. Key features include:

  • easy cab accessibility with one or two illuminated steps (depending on the model variant)
  • six mirrors to improve all round visibility
  • a centralised instrument panel with most frequently used buttons together, to improve accessibility; LCD display to enable improved monitoring
  • an adjustable steering wheel with ergonomic hand grips to enable drivers to find their ideal position
  • multiple storage compartments throughout the cab
  • excellent cross cab access
  • durable and functional finishes, which provides excellent soundproofing.
  • Electric cab tilt and fleet management system now standard
  • New seat, bunk and curtain fabrics as well as door panels
  • Rear wall with hooks for clothes


There are three cabs available:

  • Day Cab: perfect for short to medium day jobs. The dual passenger seat allows the central backrest to fold down and form a table to complete paper work.
  • Sleeper Cab with a high roof option: designed for longer journeys, the sleeping area includes a ‘Bed Module’ that controls a range of functions, including interior light, and opening/locking of doors, windows and sunroof.
  • Dual Cab: dual bench-passenger seat plus with fold-down central oddments tray, with an option of a single passengers seat. Includes: 2 x lap-sash seat belts for outboard positions, 1 x lap seat belt for centre position and a four man contoured rear seat with seatbelts and head restraints.
